Despite progress towards the UN’s Millennium Development Goals, preventable deaths related to pregnancy and childbirth remain high in much of Latin America and the Caribbean. The regional task force brings together UN agencies, NGOs, and professional associations to strengthen healthcare policy and reduce the inequities that too often lead to maternal mortality.
